| Last night over a meal to celebrate the lunar New Year, when I mentioned that way back when my forefather arrived in the New World, I would have been sent off to live with the natives rather than stay in Puritan New England, my friend Frank said, "No, you probably never would have had the opportunity to explore your sexuality." Of course he was right. That is what men with deep emotional feelings towards other men did, they married and had sexless lives, probably not understanding what all the fuss was about.
In the New World of gay sex, not only is openly meeting men who have sex with men a new phenomenon, so is talking about it. There is a lot of caricature. So I don't have as many words as I might for the following collages, but you can be sure that I have a few things to say. The images are what they are. Please do not enter this section if you are going to be offended by explicit images of gay sex. Sex is as much a part of life as cooking and eating, language and conversation, laughing and crying, being born and dying. And yet the conversation about sex, especially with regard to queer sex, remains hidden, distorted, misunderstood, and covered with lies. |
